The finest religious spa in Northern Europe, built 2000 years ago around the country's only hot springs. When visiting Bath, this Museum is a must see. The Roman bathing establishment with its magnificent Temple and Baths flourished in Aquae Sulis between the first and fifth centuries AD and the extensive remains still flow with natural hot water. The Roman Baths themselves are below the modern street level. There are four main features: the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman Bath House and the Museum. With a special audiotour for children and the exquisite Georgian Pump Room restaurant, the Roman Bath's makes for a wonderful family day out in Bath.

The Jane Austen Centre is a captivating family attraction that relates the life and times of the landmark 19th century authoress. It is signposted across Bath and just 15 minutes walk away from the train station The family attraction is located in a Grade II listed Georgian pile on Gay Street, where the novelist resided in 1805, not far from Queen Square and the Circus. The Jane Austen Centre, a permanent exhibition featuring displays of the places from Jane Austen's Bath; her life and family; Georgian Bath; a formal Georgian garden; the settings of her 2 Bath novels; film costumes; a specially made video; a Georgian shop front and lots more.

An 18th century townhouse designed by John Wood the younger as part of his masterpiece, the Royal Crescent, now designated a World Heritage Building. Opening Hours: Daily except Mondays from 10.30am to 5pm (4pm in November only).  The House is open Tuesday to Sunday and on Bank Holiday Mondays. Admission:  Adults £6.50, Concessions, Senior Citizens, Students £5.00, Children (5-16 years) £2.50.  Groups £4.00 (adults & students), School Groups £2.50 (5-16 years) and Family Ticket £13.00.  Special tours by arrangement with the administrator.

The oldest house in Bath, c.1482. Excavations in the Cellar Museum show remains of Roman Saxon and Medieval buildings.
Opening Hours:   Every day except Christmas. Museum and refreshment rooms open 10.00 am (Sun 12.00 noon). Evening restaurant from 6pm. Very close to Bath Abbey and Roman Baths, in a narrow passageway between Abbey Green and North Parade.

Houses the region's permanent collection of British and European Art from the 17th century to the present day. Also presents major temporary exhibitions. For wheelchair users, the two ground floor exhibition spaces and Gallery shop can be accessed via our side door on Bridge Street. Ringing the doorbell alerts a member of staff to put a metal ramp in place, enabling the slight change in level to be negotiated.

Bath Abbey Heritage Vaults

Answerphone service at other times).Restored 18th century cellars housing objects from the Abbey's past, some dating form Saxon times. Unfortunately there will be times when the Abbey has to be closed to visitors for services and events, but there will always be a notice on the door to inform you when the Abbey is open again.
