The
Bathwick Boatman Restaurant |
The
Bathwick Boatman Riverside Restaurant is only a stroll away from
Bath City Centre and overlooks one of the prettiest reaches of the
river Avon.Tucked away in residential Bathwick’s historic Boating Station (est. c1833) this delightful restaurant has all the charm of the rowing clubhouse it used to be, with a contemporary edge of clean colours and simple yet sophisticated décor. Inspired by their years in Italy, chef-owner Ben Hall and his wife Rosy offer a deliciously simple and rustic menu made with the freshest produce on the market. Everything is freshly prepared on the premises, right down to the pasta and pickles. Dedicated to using local produce and maintaining good value, Ben has an ever changing specials board. His dishes reflect his love of robust earthy flavours, such as Cornish Turbot with soft roe butter, beef ravioli in red wine gravy or onion soufflé with truffle butter and parmesan. |
![]() Menu favourites include light lunches such as grilled goat’s cheese with red onion chutney, or more hearty dishes such as cassoulet, or black spaghetti with mascarpone, smoked salmon and chives. You can pop by for coffee on the tranquil terrace, a light lunch or a candle lit dinner. Children are very welcome, there is a private customer car park or you could hop on a boat from Pulteney Weir! The Boating Station boasts a collection of rowing punts, skiffs and canoes, hand built on the premises by the fifth generation of family boat builders. All the craft are available for hire by the hour or by the day. |
