DUNDAS LOCK COTTAGE AND DAY BOAT HIRE
BED & BREAKFAST IN A LOVELY CANALSIDE COTTAGE 5 MILES FROM BATH
www.bathcanal.com
This pretty Bath stone cottage, covered in roses and honeysuckle, was built in 1801.
Now extended to provide attractive accommodation, all guest bedrooms overlook the historic waterways, the Somerset Coal Canal and the Kennet & Avon Canal.
The restored first lock of the Somerset Coal Canal, closed in 1898, runs through the garden, surrounded by lawn and flower beds, and joins the Kennet & Avon Canal outside the garden gate, a few yards from the magnificent Dundas Aqueduct.
The bedrooms of the cottage are prettily furnished in country cottons and have tea and coffee making facilities. Most have private bathrooms.

BOAT HIRE ON THE KENNET & AVON CANAL

Close to Dundas Lock Cottage, along the Somerset Coal Canal, is an historic boatyard from where attractive electric self-drive boats are available for day or evening hire. Also an elegant 12-passenger skippered launch for group charter and Canadian canoe hire. Take a picnic or visit the canalside pubs and tea gardens along the delightful stretch between Bath and Bradford-on-Avon.
At the boatyard is the new Visitor Centre containing a café/tea room (boat picnics available), tourist information, canal exhibition, bookshop, and chandlery.
The Somerset Coal Canal Company provides secure moorings for narrow boats and cruisers.
