The Carfax Hotel unites three Georgian town houses in one of Bath's most elegant streets. The celebrated architect Thomas Baldwin constructed Great Pulteney Street in 1789 and it's spacious classical dimensions afford one of the most memorable leisurely strolls into the city centre.

In counterpoint to the Holburne Museum, the western end of the street culminates in Robert Adam's masterpiece Pulteney Bridge, whose lines of delightful shops echo the style of the Florentine Ponte Vecchio. After a visit to the justly famous Roman Baths and Royal Crescent, both of which are in easy walking distance, relax in either Henrietta or Sydney Park with a Jane Austen novel.

The attractive, designer-planned interior of the Carfax Hotel, is resplendent with the distinctive Georgian features associated with a grade one listed building. Inside, guests will find the generously proportioned public rooms of the 18th Century, with their high ceilings and vast casement windows. Breakfast and dinner are served by friendly staff in the restaurant which offers a table d'hote menu, while light lunches and afternoon tea are served in the comfortable public lounge.
