The Carfax Hotel Great Pulteney Street Bath BA2 4BS Tel: 01225 462089 Fax: 01225 443257 Email: reservations@carfaxhotel.co.uk |
The
Carfax Hotel unites three Georgian town houses in one of Bath's most
elegant streets. The celebrated architect Thomas Baldwin constructed
Great Pulteney Street in 1789 and it's spacious classical dimensions
afford one of the most memorable leisurely strolls into the city centre.
In counterpoint to the Holburne Museum, the western
end of the street culminates in Robert Adam's masterpiece Pulteney
Bridge, whose lines of delightful shops echo the style of the Florentine
Ponte Vecchio. After a visit to the justly famous Roman Baths and Royal
Crescent, both of which are in easy walking distance, relax in either
Henrietta or Sydney Park with a Jane Austen novel. |

associated with a grade one listed building. Inside, guests will find

by friendly staff in the restaurant which offers a table d'hote menu,
while light lunches and afternoon tea are served in the comfortable
public lounge.
