Does anyone know of any book clubs or reading groups in Bath or surrounds?

No but I would be interested in joining one! Did you get any responses to your query?

To Maggie and Linda.

It seems that there is no club in Bath.

Unbelievable...

What say we start one?

Did anyone find a book/reading club in the Bath centre or surrounds? If you did can you tell me where it is?

New Oriel Hall is a large Community Centre on the North East side of Bath (one and a half miles from the city centre).
We will be starting a book club once a month on Fridays in September (date and times not yet decided). It will take place before or after a small light lunch/social club we have running for the over 50's. (11am to 12.30pm or 2.30 to 4.00pm). This age group will benefit as it is our policy to subsidise some activities for this age group.

We welcome enquiries from people in the area of benefit (Swainswick, Bailbrook, Larkhall, Fairfield park,Grosvenor, and the wider community.

Please contact Clare Johnston on 01225 466606

Typical that when I post about starting a book club, my typing is suddenly appalling and I look completely illiterate. I can read and write quite well, honest.

Show of hands then, people - I for one am definitely up for an evening book club, how much serious interest is there on this forum?

Good news for all those interested in a book club in Bath.

The inaugural meeting is at the Chequers in Rivers Street, Bath at 0830 PM on Wednesday 13 September - apologies for the late notice but all are welcome. Don't forget to bring the book you're reading at present.

The Bath Book Club seems to be rolling. Only 6 or so members at present but there appears to be interest from a few more. The next meeting (address to be confirmed) is on Tuesday this week. If anyone is interested still post a reply and I'll get back to you with the details.

I am a 60+lady, ex music teacher, father Prof. Linguistics etc etc. Being now somewhat housebound would anyone be interested in a book club that takes place in my house? If so please ring 01761 434667. I do not live in a posh part of Bath (in fact it is the ubiquitous Peasedown St John) but you should not judge a book by its cover. It would be nice to meet people who would stir up some of that grey matter which has lain dormant for the past year.

Hello. I started at the University of Bath in September and am looking to meet people outside the university by joining a book group. Is there anybody here that wouldn't mind me joining their group? If so please email me at dmt21@bath.ac.uk. Thanks

To all at the recently started Bath Book Club.

Regrettably due to a domestic crisis I wasn't able to attend any other meeting than the first one.

Then my PC crashed and now I've lost all my email addresses: Becky, Becca et al.

I feel I'm now sorted out for 2007 and would like to re-establish contact with all current (and new members).

I'm still at MPRollinson@AOL.com and look forward to getting together with you all in the New Year.

Best Regards

Martyn

Hello,

I thought a reading club may get me reading a bit more as it seems to take me a while to finish a book unless it's a major page turner. Please could you let me know if your evening book club is still going and where and when.

Thank you
