Pinkstripes on Pulteney Bridge is one of those
independent ladies fashion shops that Bath is famous
for. Opened in March 2005, it caters for both the young
lady and the lady who is young at heart. The typical
customer is one who loves her clothes and is brave
enough to wear something a little different.
Pinkstripes is not one of those very expensive boutiques
with top designer labels, but it does have a number of
labels that are unique to Bath. The shop’s policy is to
buy a few of each type of dress to reduce the chances of
attending the same party as someone else wearing the
same dress. Labels include well-known names such as
Nougat and Naf Naf, and from spring next year will
include Sticky Fingers and Fenn Wright Manson. Less
well-known names include Mink bikini, whose clothes are
always beautifully finished with the lining almost as
eye-catching as the outside. Hunters & Gatherers and
Bayliss Knight, two British companies, supply most of
the party wear and they are truly made for that very
special occasion. Jeans are by David Bitton. Pinkstripes
concentrates on fashion and accessories.
Complementing that beautiful dress is costume jewellery
by Mikey and a new arrival is evening shoes by Magrit of
Spain. Finally, in spring 2007, Pinkstripes will be
selling fashion belts by Post & Co. The owner Rafaelle
and her friends Joanne and Doris are passionate about
fashion and nothing is too much trouble for their
customers.
